What have I been doing instead? Training for a marathon, continuing with my yoga teacher training, and now, on top of it all, a cutting phase to my diet. The long and short of it is that Ryan and I have plunged into a 14 day diet detox, which is basically a bodybuilders cutting diet.
It looks a little bit like this:
Breakfast: Quinoa with flaxseed, wheat germ and bee pollen; egg whites; black coffee.
Midmorning: Grilled chicken breast; 1/2 sweet potato; water.
Lunch: Water-packed tuna with lettuce and cucumbers; 1 apple; water.
Midafternoon: Scrambled egg whites with a tomato; water.
Dinner: Lean turkey breast with green beans and 1/2 sweet potato; water.
Did I mention I am drinking 4L of water a day!?!
My rationale for this: see if I can lose that extra bit of tummy pudge and to kick the sugar/carb. addiction I have!
So far it's been awesome and I really enjoy the time spent with Ryan in the kitchen every night preparing our meals for the next day. It's now day 3 of 14 and my cravings are receding into a general looking forward to a strawberry or a piece of homemade bread ^_^
